Wolfgang Lücke (agricultural scientist)

Wolfgang Lücke (* 1956 ) is a German agricultural scientist and university professor.

Life

After studying agricultural sciences at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , he received his doctorate there. In 1993 he completed his habilitation in agricultural engineering .

Since 1993 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Göttingen. His research interests are regenerative energies , microwave and high frequency technology, quality assurance and post-harvest technology and international agricultural technology.

Since 2008 Lücke has been Vice President of the University of Göttingen. On April 24, 2013, the Senate of Osnabrück University elected Lücke to succeed Claus Rainer Rollinger as President of Osnabrück University . The term of office is six years and began on October 1, 2013. Ruth Florack took over his position at the University of Göttingen .

Lücke announced that he would not be re-elected at the end of his first term and that he would leave the office of President of the University of Osnabrück at the end of September 2019. Susanne Menzel-Riedl was elected as his successor .

Lücke is the chairman of the jury for the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize (as of 2017).
