Wolfgang Leininger

Wolfgang Leininger (born August 18, 1954 in Auggen ) is Professor of Economics at the Technical University of Dortmund .

Life

Leininger studied mathematics and economics at the Universities of Mannheim and Bonn and received his doctorate from the London School of Economics and Political Science . In 1988 he completed his habilitation in Bonn. Since 1989 he has been professor of economics at the Technical University of Dortmund. He was also a visiting professor at the Universities of Stockholm, Boston and Maryland.

Research and Awards

His area of ​​research is economic theory, in particular microeconomic theory, game and conflict theory and their applications in industrial economics, public choice and social choice theory. In 2011, together with Kai Konrad , Leininger received the Duncan Black Prize for a thesis on standards and the non-cooperative provision of public goods. In 2013, Leininger received the Werner Heisenberg Medal from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation .
