Wolfgang Mittendorf

Wolfgang Mittendorf (born April 29, 1953 in Bielefeld ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player . He was used in midfield .

career

Mittendorf moved in 1971 from the youth of VfB 03 Bielefeld to Arminia Bielefeld . In the 1971/72 season he played six times in the Bundesliga team, which had to be relegated due to the Bundesliga scandal . After two years in the Regionalliga West , Arminia qualified for the newly introduced 2nd Bundesliga . In 1977 Mittendorf was runner-up with Arminia, but failed in the promotion games to the Bundesliga at TSV 1860 Munich . After two game days in the 1977/78 season, Mittendorf moved to VfL Osnabrück for two years before ending his career at VfB 03 Bielefeld after the 1979/80 season. Mittendorf played 131 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored seven goals.

After his career, he coached various teams in the amateur field. At FC Gütersloh 2000 , Mittendorf was the coach of the women's team between 2003 and 2004, which played in the then second-rate Regionalliga West. His daughter Maxine Birker also plays soccer and was under contract with Bundesliga club Herford SV .
