Sergi Vidal Plana (born April 9, 1981 in Badalona , Catalonia ) is a Spanish basketball player . He plays in the positions of shooting guard and small forward .
career
The 1.98 meter tall Sergi Vidal began his career in the youth of Joventut de Badalona where he finally made his debut in the ACB league in the 1999/2000 season . In the summer of 2000 Vidal switched to TAU Vitoria with whom he won two Spanish championship titles and four cup wins. He and his team failed twice in the final of the ULEB Euroleague ( 2000/01 and 2004/05 ). In August 2009 Vidal moved to the Spanish record champions Real Madrid . After two years with the capital city, his contract was not renewed. He then signed a contract with Lagun Aro GBC that ran until 2012 . In the 2011/12 season he was chosen as the best shooting guard in the all-tournament team of the ACB league.
National team
Sergi Vidal made his debut on August 27, 2005 in a friendly against France in the Spanish national team . He was part of the roster for the 2005 European Basketball Championship .
