Wolfgang Neumann (crystallographer)

Wolfgang Neumann (* 1944 in Großwöhlen , Tetschen-Bodenbach district ) is a German crystallographer . He is a professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

In 1993 he completed his habilitation in Halle (Dr. rer. Nat. Habil.) And was there at the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics.

In 2017 he received the Carl Hermann Medal for his fundamental contributions to electron microscopy and electron diffraction of crystalline solids and their application to crystallographic issues . In 2011 he became a member of the Sudeten German Academy of Sciences and Arts .

From 2006 to 2009 he was chairman of the German Society for Crystallography .
