Wolfgang Rothmaler

Wolfgang Rothmaler (born January 24, 1925 in Siegen ) is a German publisher .

Life

Wolfgang Rothmaler, the youngest of three children from the marriage of the publisher Johannes Heinrich Sigismund Rothmaler (1878–1957) and Maria Anna Franziska geb. Vorländer (* 1886), as a young participant in the war, was only able to do his Abitur after the end of the Second World War. After completing a commercial apprenticeship, he passed the master's examination as a typesetter and graduated as a manager. In 1951 he joined his parents' company, the Siegener Zeitung , which was re-established in 1949 , initially as an assistant to the management. After the death of his father in 1957, he took over the management with his cousin Heinz Vorländer († 2005).

Wolfgang Rothmaler was married to Mechtild († July 3, 2018). Daughter Cornelie Rothmaler-Schön and son Johannes Rothmaler come from the marriage, with whom Wolfgang Rothmaler has so far formed the management of the Vorländer media group, Siegener Druck and the Siegener newspaper Vorländer & Rothmaler, among others.
