Wolfgang Schultze

Wolfgang Schultze (born February 11, 1936 in Hanover ) is a German politician (SPD) and union official.

Schultze attended elementary school and trained as a toolmaker from 1951 to 1954 . In the year the apprenticeship began, he joined the Chemical, Paper and Ceramics trade union. After completing his apprenticeship, he joined the SPD in 1955 and worked in his profession until September 1958. During this time he was a company youth representative from 1953 to 1957 and then a works council member until 1958. After leaving the company, he became DGB youth secretary in Hanover and the surrounding districts of Hanover and Springe from October 1958. From 1959 to 1972 Schultze worked as a secretary in the Lower Saxony district for the chemical-paper-ceramic industrial union. After that he was a full-time member of the board of directors in the DGB state district of Lower Saxony until 1998. From September 1980 he was a member of the main board and from September 1988 he was deputy federal chairman of the chemical-paper-ceramic union based in Hanover. Schultze was also an employee representative on various supervisory boards.

Schultze was also a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from June 21, 1974, the beginning of the eighth electoral term, until the end of the 14th electoral term in early 2003. From 1990 he was chairman of the committee for economy and transport.
