Wolfshof granite gneiss

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wolfshoferamt granite gneiss is a place after the Wolfshof at Gars am Kamp named Syenitgneis whose occurrence is to Krems extend.

distribution

The Wolfshof granite gneiss embedded in Gföhler gneiss occurs as intrusive rock , and around Wolfshof and Fuglau (both southwest of Horn ) it appears several times like lamellae and lentils. After precise analyzes, the Wolfshof granite gneiss and the syenite gneiss deposits from Droß-Lengenfeld and Krems-Stein, which are each underlain by the Gföhl gneiss, were recognized as identical and combined as a unit.

description

The Wolfshof granite gneiss is small to medium-grained and very homogeneous, i.e. almost without a parallel structure. According to Albert Fahrtisen , it consists of mixtures of alkali feldspar syenite and alkali feldspar quartz syenite and, as characteristic accessories, has a relatively large amount of rutile and idiomorphic zircon .
