Cloud cross
The cloud cross can be a heraldic image or a coat of arms in heraldry . Herald's image is always a figure that touches the edge of the shield and a heraldic figure always hovers in the shield or field , so no edge contact. The cloud cross is known from the coat of arms and the flag of Lombardy , but it is very rare.
A cross is shown, the arms of which are formed from the single figure cloud, i.e. four heraldic clouds form a cross . Two possibilities determine the representation. At one point it can be like a common cross in the coat of arms, or not completely in the position of an Andrew's cross (45 degrees), as in the coat of arms of Lombardy.
The coat of arms of Lombardy and the symbol in the flag are said to have been taken from the rock drawing as a feature. The rock carvings as Camunian rose were probably the basis of the coat of arms and a cloud cross in the sense of heraldry .
