The Wollesen Islands are a group of small islands off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . They are located 1.5 km west of the Azimuth Islands in the entrance to Holme Bay .

Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . A new mapping was carried out using aerial photographs taken by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them after Christian Wollesen Petersen, radio operator of the ships Thala Dan and Nella Dan in nine ANARE campaigns.
