The WorldSkills 2009 were from 1 to 7 September 2009 in Calgary discharged. They took place in Canada for the second time after 1999 in Montreal. About 1000 participants from 50 countries were expected to compete for world championships in 45 professional disciplines.

This international job competition compares the performance of non-academic professions for apprentices and young professionals up to the age of 23.
