The World Coffee Company GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1997 by Roman Maria Koidl in Hamburg . The company operates 11 cafés in Germany .

Company history

After successfully ending insolvency proceedings in 2002, the company was saved and continued. After the bankruptcy , Christian Schwake was appointed as the new managing director by the new owners, a group of investors from Frankfurt am Main . As of October 2010, World Coffee was operating 27 branches. In July 2011, the company merged with competitor Balzac Coffee to form the new company Balzac Coffee Company . In the summer of 2017, the Swedish chain Espresso House took over the chain and named Nikolas Niebuhr as the new managing director, replacing Christian Schwake.

Products

According to its own information, the company sells around 192 possible combinations of coffee specialties. The range was divided into foods such as baguettes , cookies and cakes . Smoothies and milkshakes were also offered.

Awards

According to a study by the German Institute for Service Quality in 2010, World Coffee came second out of eleven coffee shop chains tested. In addition, World Coffee had the most competent employees in the test.
