World Jewish Restitution Organization
World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO) is an umbrella organization from Jerusalem that has been entrusted with the restitution of the property of victims of the Nazi regime since April 1993 . In particular, it concerns the restitution of land, compensation payments and compensation for Holocaust survivors. In 1996 it signed an agreement with the World Jewish Congress and various Swiss banks to set up the Volcker Commission, a commission of inquiry into the proceedings concerning Jewish assets at Swiss banks .
