The World Muaythai Council (WMC) is the world association of Muay Thai ( Thai boxing).

The organization was founded by resolution in 1995 by the Thai House of Representatives, approved by the King of Thailand or his government and registered under the umbrella of the Thai Ministry of Sports and Tourism. The council was commissioned to promote the sport of Muay Thai worldwide or to contribute to its expansion. The organization's swearing-in was overseen by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific . The council and its committees (rules, jury, medicine, finance, youth, women, press, business and legal affairs) are democratically elected by its members.

Since August 20, 2014, a ceremony with Bhumibol Adulyadej , the World Muaythai Council and the sport it stands for have been under the auspices of the King of Thailand .
