woxx
The woxx published and published in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a weekly newspaper with an ecological-social focus. The publisher is a cooperative in order to meet the requirements of the self-managed company.
The newspaper was created in 1988 as GréngeSpoun on the initiative of the Luxembourg Green Party Déi Gréng . However, the GréngeSpoun should "not become a central organ" , it said on September 23, 1988 in the first editorial . However, “the Gréng Alternative also needs an organ in the sense that it can publish its positions undistorted,” the newspaper admits self-critically.
In the meantime, however, the newspaper, which was renamed woxx in 2000, has largely emancipated itself from the party.
Linguistically, the newspaper is particularly interesting because all three national languages of Luxembourg, Luxembourgish , French and German co- exist in the paper.
The optics of woxx is based on the monthly newspaper Le Monde diplomatique .
Woxx is subsidized by the Luxembourg state through press support . In 2013, this amount was 247,146 euros.
