wp.net eV (Association for medium-sized auditing ) is an association of auditors and sworn auditors (professionals) who are freelance or employed in law firms, societies or companies and who do not practice their profession in auditing companies organized as large or affiliated companies . wp.net is based in Munich . The association was founded in 2005, and in May of the same year the association was registered as an eV in Munich.

aims

The association promotes the professional practice of medium-sized auditors and the preservation of freelance work as a typical expression of the medium-sized, entrepreneurial auditing profession. wp.net was founded according to its own self - image as a reaction to the dominance of the profession by the big four accounting firms. The aim is in particular to democratize the profession and increase the weight of small and medium-sized law firms. To implement this goal, wp.net, against the resistance of the IDW, advocated the abolition of the WPK voting rights and the anchoring of the postal voting right in the WPO , since the previous presence voting with proxy votes the big four auditing companies, from the perspective of the wp. net association, undemocratic beneficiaries. On December 2, 2010, postal voting was anchored in the WPO with the Fourth Act to Change the Auditor Regulations - the right to vote for the Chamber of Auditors .

In the elections to the Advisory Board of the Wirtschaftsprüferkammer , which were carried out for the first time in 2011 by postal vote , the "Gschrei-List" (list of the then and now executive board of wp.net) won the election and provided the majority of the WPK advisory boards. On September 2, 2011, the wp.net board spokesman Michael Gschrei was elected as the new President of the Chamber of Auditors. On October 12, 2011, he resigned as managing director of wp.net.
