Wrike is an online project management and collaboration tool . It empowers its users to adjust project plans, prioritize tasks, track schedules and collaborate with team members online.

history

The idea of Wrike as a flexible project management tool came to Andrew Filev, founder of Wrike, in 2004, based on his personal experience and the experience of his team dealing with a variety of collaboration issues.

Since the essential medium for collaborating on tasks with colleagues in small and medium-sized businesses is email, Wrike was designed with email integration as one of its key features. In April 2011, Google Docs was integrated into Wrike; integration with Google Apps followed ; and in late 2012 with Dropbox . In addition, a function was introduced at the end of 2011 that allows MS Office files to be edited online without downloading them. The integration also took place in Office 365 .

In 2009, Wrike began localizing with the release of the Spanish version. At the end of 2012, Wrike was available in six other languages, including German.

In May 2012, Wrike released a free version for teams of up to five users. In November of the same year mobile apps were presented: a native app for iOS and Android devices and a browser version for mobile platforms. In 2013 the version "Wrike Enterprise" was published, which is aimed primarily at larger companies. In 2016 Wrike introduced two new versions: "Wrike Business", which is located between "Wrike Professional" and "Wrike Enterprise", and "Wrike Marketing", which is aimed at marketing teams and agencies.

Compared to the fee-based versions Professional and Enterprise, the free version lacks planning aids such as Gantt charts .
