Wu Xianghu ( Chinese  吴 湘湖 , Pinyin Wú Xiānghú , * 1964 ; † February 2, 2006 in Taizhou ) was a Chinese journalist and publisher of the Taizhou Evening News ( Taizhou Wanbao ).

On October 19, 2005, Wu published a critical article about the local traffic police and their procedure with traffic charges, prompting thousands of police officers to protest outside the newspaper's headquarters. Police officer Li Xiaoguo was featured in the Chinese media for his role in this corruption case. Shortly afterwards, Wu was beaten up by traffic police. He died in February 2006 at the age of 41 as a result of his injuries.

No one was held accountable for the Taizhou incident, and Wu's death was not reported in the Chinese media.
