Wuchi Street

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wuchi Street ( 五尺 道 , Wǔchǐ dào  - "Five Chi Street") is an old Shu Street . Its name comes from the fact that it is five chi wide. Its construction began in the time of the Qin Dynasty under Emperor Qin Shihuang , who wanted to connect the Central China Plain with the Southwest. It was the main link between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Sichuan Basin . In the south it leads to today's Qujing in the east of the Yunnan province .
