Wunderbar ( known in a modified form as Starbar in most countries ) is a chocolate bar from Cadbury , a subsidiary of world market leader Mondelēz International chocolate bar since 2010 . Its main characteristics are peanut pieces and a high proportion of caramel .

The bar was developed in a Cadbury chocolate factory in Gladstone, Ontario and first hit the Canadian market in 1976. In the UK and the US, the bar was launched under the name Star Bar . In 1989 it was renamed Peanut Boost , but this was reversed in 1994. In the Irish market, the bar was renamed Moro Peanut in 2006 (with the addition of formerly Star Bar ). Since 2012 the bar for the Scandinavian market has been produced by another Mondelēz subsidiary, the chocolate manufacturer Marabou , also under the name Starbar .

In addition to Germany, the bar is still called Wunderbar in Canada . The name of the chocolate bar is a play on words. Pronounced German it is the adjective wonderful . Pronounced English it means something like “miracle bar” (from “chocolate bar”: chocolate bar). The Canadian sales slogan is Wunderbar tastes wunderbar .
