Reviews

  • Rose-Maria Gropp attested Berg in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on November 26, 2016, that she was "a moralist among us contemporaries, a great comedian, the member of a species that must not become extinct, among all the comedians in their constantly excited silliness."
  • "Sibylle Berg wrote a sad travel book there (...) beautiful, clever and infinitely sad," summarized Barbara Schäfer in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung on December 4, 2016.
  • “The happiness of the trip is always somewhere on the edge, never in the fulfillment of clichés. Sibylle Berg's wanderlust always resonates with that wisdom of those who have traveled a lot, which is actually a routine expectation of disappointment, ”wrote Kathleen Hildebrand in the Süddeutsche Zeitung on October 18, 2016.
  • You read Sibylle Berg “because of her sound, this sensitive, snotty style, this way of letting things get to her very thin skin and hitting it with full verbal rage. Those who love that will also get their money's worth in these travel pieces. ”This is the verdict of Martin Ebel in the Tages-Anzeiger on September 30, 2016.
  • Annerose Kirchner from the Ostthüringer Zeitung said on October 15, 2016, Berg "entertainingly and critically grabs the reader with facts that convince."
  • Shirin Sojitrawalla commented on the illustrations on deutschlandfunk.de on October 12, 2016: “Another special feature of the narrow book are the illustrations by Isabel Kreitz, which adorn the volume like vignettes. They are pictures that know their way around the world. In doing so, they don't just depict the stories in a disgraceful manner, but continue to spin them gently and obliquely. "
