Litter slag

Litter slag is an outdated term for a pyroclastic deposit . It consists of lava that are already in the delivery vent of the volcano cooled down and solidified.

In the more recent terminology of pyroclasts or pyroclastic deposits, litter slags belong to the pyroclastic breccias , which consist of more than 75 percent blocks . Blocks have an angular or rounded-angular shape.
