True to roots

A plant is called true- to- root if the root and the aerial shoot have the same genetic information ( DNA ), i.e. are the same variety [in contrast to grafted plants ( chimeras )]. In the case of real-root plants, it is irrelevant whether they originated from cuttings , subsidence or the like ( vegetative propagation ) or from a seed ( generative propagation ).
