XDCAM HD

XDCAM HD is the HD version of the Professional Disc Recording System introduced by Sony . Here, the are Blu-ray disc uses similar media, which are equipped with a recording layer (23 GB capacity) or two (50 GB capacity); the disc is similar to a floppy disk in that it is in a protective case (caddy). This form of HD application is being used by more and more professional broadcasters. There is a risk of confusion with the XDCAM format, which is only used for SD productions. According to Sony, XDCAM HD should close the gap between HDV and HDCAM .
