XING has been published three to four times a year since 2004. The place of publication is Linz in Upper Austria . Each issue is dedicated to a topic in the social sciences that is discussed in an interdisciplinary manner. In addition to journalistic and columnist articles, it also contains academic articles. Art and literature are also focal points.

The editors are Bernhard Seyringer and Manuel Schilcher. Michael Amon , Gerhard Fröhlich and others are represented on the Advisory Board . Authors such as Bernhard Heinzlmaier, Ulf Matthiesen , Kathrin Röggla , Thomas Ballhausen , Franzobel and many others publish on XING .
