Elmar Kaljot (born November 15, 1901 in Tallinn , † January 8, 1969 in New York City ) was an Estonian football player and coach.

Career

Elmar Kaljot played in his active career for the Estonian capital clubs Tallinna JK and JK Tallinna Kalev . With the Tallinna JK Kaljot was able to win the championship several times between 1923 and 1936, including twice as a coach. For Estonia Kaljot made his debut on September 18, 1923 against the Soviet Union in a friendly where he was able to score two goals. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 he took part in football competitions with the Estonian national team, but retired there after losing to the United States' national football team . Kaljot also took part in the Baltic Cup twice. When he first participated in 1928 , he finished second with Estonia, and won the title the following year at the 1929 Baltic Cup . The last international match of a total of 25, which he played between 1923 and 1929, he made against Latvia in September 1929.

He came to Germany in 1944 before emigrating to the United States in 1948 .
