Thomas Ballhausen (* 1975 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer, literary and film scholar, university lecturer, editor and translator.

life and work

Ballhausen teaches at the University of Vienna , the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University Mozarteum Salzburg . Ballhausen is the head of the literature department for the culture magazine skug , and he was also a co-founder of the authors' association die flut .

In Ballhausen's fiction publications, reflections on the impossibility of happy relationships and attempts to master life dominate. Both popular culture and high culture find their place in Ballhausen's essays. In 2010 Ballhausen was invited to the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize .
