XM Satellite Radio is a commercial provider of satellite radio in North America, according to the approved in 2008 merger with its competitor Sirius Satellite Radio for Sirius XM belongs Holdings Inc.. The station broadcasts 69 music channels, 39 channels with voice services such as news and sports reports, 21 stations with regional programs and 23 stations with current commentary on sporting events. It was founded in 1992 as the American Mobile Radio Corporation and in 2005 employed approximately 700 people.

The XM signal uses six separate channels in a 12.5 MHz wide range of the S band between 2332.5 and 2345.0 MHz, with only two channels carrying different data, the remaining four as redundancy ( diversity reception) Ensure the quality of reception.
