XMLSpy is an XML editor and integrated development environment from Altova . XMLSpy enables developers to create XML-based web service applications using technologies such as XML , XML Schema , XSLT , XPath , XQuery , WSDL and SOAP . XMLSpy is also available as a plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse . XMLSpy is the market leader in XML editors with an estimated 2.3 million installations, and the product is updated 2 to 3 times per year to take account of new technologies such as the much discussed OOXML specification from Ecma International .
