Xaar is a British developer and manufacturer of inkjet printheads for industrial digital printing based in Cambridge . The company was founded in 1990 as an offshoot of the consulting and development service provider Cambridge Consultants and was intended to make research results in the field of digital printing financially usable. Seven years later, in 1997, it was listed on the LSE . The company's subsidiary Xaar 3D, a joint venture with Stratasys , develops high-speed sintering applications in 3D printing .
