Origin and meaning
Although the origin of the name could not be completely clarified in any anthroponymic document with absolute certainty, two defensible theses have emerged, the alder break theory and the thatched roofing theory.
The spelling of the name with "Xh" is of Walloon origin and can be traced back to the 16th century. However, at least six different initial letters in different combinations are known, namely: C, H, L, S, X, Z.
