Xicochi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Xicochi is a 17th century motet by Gaspar Fernandes during his creative period in Puebla in New Spain (now Mexico ). It is an example of the influence of the Nahua indigenous people - at that time dominating culturally in Central America - on the music of the colonial era . Linda Ronstadt recorded the song for her album A Merry Little Christmas , released in 2000 .
