The Xindi ( Chinese 新笛 , Pinyin Xīndí - "new flute") is a Chinese musical instrument . It is a further development of the 20th century from the classical Chinese dizi (a bamboo flute ). The Xindi is a fully chromatic instrument with 21 holes, the most characteristic Dimo missing or snare membrane.
