Xtranormal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Xtranormal was a website that provided an artificial voice with computer animated video clips . The video clips could be created by any user and edited and uploaded with a freely downloadable program.

In June 2013, the company announced that it would be shutting down online services starting July 31, 2013. As of August 2013, the content of their website was replaced with a simple page.

The website has been available again since May 16, 2014, this time operated by a different company. No video creation or retrieval was possible after this date.

Between the end of July 2015 and the beginning of September 2015, the new offer (content similar to the original Xtranormal) was activated on a different domain. Since then, there has only been a reference to the new domain on the website.

Video clips could either be created with a downloadable trial version (limited to the creation of simple clips) or the clip was created and saved directly online on the website.

While YouTube only offers the option of uploading finished videos, Xtranormal had the option of using a kind of “construction kit” to put together various figures, environments and backgrounds with artificial voices to create a self-produced, animated video in 3D . No special knowledge or particularly powerful computers were required for this.

The multilingual website got about 65 percent of its traffic from the United States.
