Xylography or xylography (Greek xylon = wood, graphein = to write) was a term used until the 19th century for printing processes such as block printing , woodcut and wood engraving that work with wooden printing blocks . The works produced by these processes are also known as xylographs. The craftsmen were called xylographs or xylographs , which can stand for wood cutters , wood engravers and shape cutters or engravers.
