The Yıldız Park , in German "Star Park", is one of the largest parks in the Bosphorus metropolis of Istanbul in the Beşiktaş district with an area of ​​160 hectares and extends behind the Çırağan Palace along the slopes of the European Bosphorus bank .

The area of ​​Yıldız Park was a forest in Byzantine times . During the reign of Sultan Suleyman I , the park served as a hunting area. The park takes its name from the nearby Yıldız Kasrı pavilion, which was built by Sultan Selim III. was built in the early 19th century. Yıldız Park was once part of the imperial gardens of the Yıldız Palace .

The park was originally designed by the French landscape architect G. Le Roy, with rare and exotic trees, bushes and flowers being planted. The park was restored by the Turkish Touring and Automobile Club in the 1980s. The park is a popular picnic spot, especially for the weekends, and offers panoramic views of the Bosphorus. Two old pavilions, the Çadır and Malta Pavilions, offer tea, breakfast and lunch to visitors. The park includes the Şale, Çadır and Malta pavilions as well as the Yıldız porcelain factory. Almost three quarters of the park consists of trees and bushes, the rest are paths and meadows with a great variety of wild plants. The park's vegetation includes magnolias , bay leaves , judas trees , limes , horse chestnuts , pedunculate oak , cypress , pine , yew , cedar and ash .
