The YOU! Magazine is one in Austria appearing Catholic youth magazine. It has been published six times a year since 1993. The paper is sold in Austria, Germany and Switzerland exclusively through subscription or through magazine stands in parishes and church institutions. The magazine appears with a circulation of around 16,000 copies (2006).

YOU! represents the teachings of the Catholic Church in its orientation and spiritual background . A more precisely defined goal is to “see pop culture through the eyes of faith”. The magazine is supported by “YOU! Association - Youth Association for Christian / Catholic Values ​​”published in Vienna. He is close to the Catholic lay movement Legion of Mary and the Order of the Brothers of John .

Form and content

In terms of content and design, the magazine deliberately takes commercial youth magazines such as BRAVO as its model. In terms of content, the focus is on interviews and reports with music stars, especially from the Christian music scene, and articles about successful films. Faith and church topics and an advisory column (“helpline”) are another large area. In contrast to commercial youth magazines, YOU! however, explicitly Catholic positions , especially on issues such as sexuality and so-called protection of life issues ( abortion , euthanasia , embryonic stem cell research , etc.).
