The YT Industries GmbH (short: YT) is a German bicycle manufacturer based in Forchheim , Upper Franconia , Bavaria .

history

The company was founded in 2006 under the name "Sponsoree Deutschland GmbH" by Markus Flossmann and Jacob Fatih as an internet platform and served as a contact platform for athletes and potential sponsors. 

In 2008 the company developed its first mountain bike under the Sponsoree label. Two years later, Stefan Willared joined the company as Chief Technology Director (CTO) and managing partner. With the growth of the product range in the Gravity area, Sponsoree Deutschland GmbH was renamed YT Industries GmbH (Young Talent Industries) in 2011.

Meanwhile, YT develops, builds and sells mountain bikes for various areas of application such as dirt jump , freeride , downhill , enduro and all mountain . With the CAPRA, YT set standards in the enduro segment, while the TUES won the Red Dot Design Award 2010 and has been named Downhill Bike of the Year several times. YT sells all products exclusively through its own website, there are no retailers or shops. The company has grown rapidly over the past three years and now sells its products worldwide. In 2019, YT is expanding its range to include an e-bike , the Decoy.

In 2012 YT brought the mountain bike professional Andreu Lacondeguy into the team, freerider Cameron Zink followed in 2014. Since 2016 YT has also been active in the mountain bike world cup with "The YT Mob" and has one of the most successful downhill racers under contract with Aaron Gwin had (2016-2018). In 2016, the first year of their World Cup involvement, YT and Aaron Gwin clinched the overall victory in downhill. The second overall Downhill World Cup victory with Aaron Gwin followed in 2017.
