Yael Reuveny

Yael Reuveny (* 1980 in Petach Tikva ) is an Israeli director and screenwriter.

Life

Reuveny studied at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem and graduated in 2005 with the film Kleine Miriam'l . Since then she has lived in Berlin .

Yael Reuveny directed and produced documentaries for the Jewish Museum Berlin . She was also responsible for the video installation Jerusalem Variations , which was part of the My Name is Esperanza exhibition in Santander .

In 2009 Reuveny made her first documentary for the cinema. Tales of the Lost (original title: Toldot Ha'Menutzachim ) was part of the A Triangle Dialogue project , a compilation of five documentaries from Israel, Poland and Germany that tell of the clash of different cultures in society and politics. Specifically, she describes the story of her family about her grandmother's brother, who was believed missing in the Holocaust. For this she was awarded the DEFA Foundation Prize, the Short Documentary Award of the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Discovery Award of the Cottbus Film Festival.

In her 2014 documentary Yesterday's Snow, she deepened this topic. For this she received further awards at renowned film festivals.
