Yalın
Yalın (born March 30, 1980 in Istanbul , actually Hüseyin Yalın ) is a Turkish pop musician and songwriter . He had his breakthrough in 2004 with the song Zalim .
Early life
Yalın wrote his first songs during his school days. He later studied economics . At that time he recorded his first demo CD.
His enthusiasm for music dates back to his childhood when he saw his father play the Gipsy Kings on the guitar . Since then, Yalın's interest in music has grown.
Career
After a year and a half, his debut album Ellerine Sağlık was released in 2004 . The song Zalim quickly became one of the big hits in Turkey. Within the first week his album sold 200,000 times. It had sold 300,000 copies by the end of the first month. After four months it was sold 500,000 times and became one of the best-selling albums in Turkey in 2004.
With his second album Bir Bakmışsın , Yalın surpassed the musical achievements of his first album. Although he kept the tone of his music similar to that of Ellerine Sağlık, it received positive comments from critics.
In 2006, a collaboration with the American reggae artist Shaggy and the Japanese singer AI appeared on her album What's Goin 'on AI
