Yán Lìběn ( Chinese  閻立本  /  阎立本 , W.-G. Yen Li-pen , * around 600; † 673 ) was a leading figure painter of the early Tang dynasty in the Chinese Empire . He lived at the imperial court and held high official posts. Some of the most outstanding paintings of the Tang period are attributed to him, including the Thirteen Emperor Scroll (歷代 帝王 圖 卷).
