Yang Pu ( Chinese 楊 璞 / 杨 璞 , Pinyin Yáng Pú ; born March 30, 1978 in Beijing ) is a former Chinese football player .
Career
He played in defense and is 179 cm tall. At the 2002 World Cup , he played in one of three games for the Chinese national soccer team . He was shown the yellow card . At the time of the 2002 World Cup, he was under contract in his hometown near Beijing Guoan . During qualification for the 2006 World Cup , he played four games. In 2009, at the age of 31, he ended his active career as a professional footballer due to persistent pain in his right knee. Before that, he achieved the championship title of the Chinese Super League with the team in the 2009 season , the greatest success in the club's history up to that point.
