Yani Benjamin Rosenthal Hildago (born July 14, 1965 in San Pedro Sula , Honduras ) is a Honduran businessman and politician.

Life

His parents are Jaime Rosenthal and Miriam Marina Hildago de Rosenthal . He has a sister, Patricia, and three brothers; Jaime (deceased), Carlos José and César Augusto. Yani is married to Claudia Madrid, with whom he has four daughters; Isabella, Victoria, Elissa, and Alexandra.

Rosenthal went to the bilingual school: Escuela Internacional Sampedrana in San Pedro Sula. He holds a law degree from UNAH-Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (Honduras National Autonomous University) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INCAE-Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Administración de Empresas (Central American Business Administration Institute) . completed. In 1998 the Honduras Supreme Court of Justice awarded him the title of notary.

In 1993 he was the victim of a bomb attack. Rosenthal was the executive director of the Diario Tiempo (Honduras Times Newspaper) and published a series of articles on abuse in the Honduran army and his house was temporarily a refuge for a witness to a murder allegedly carried out by the army.

When Mel Zelaya moved into the Honduran presidency on January 27, 2006, Rosenthal was initially designated as prime minister. However, due to any lack of public service experience, his appointment has been heavily criticized in the public media. Especially since his appointment was seen as the result of his father's political influence. Yani's political career was always supported by his younger brother, Jaime Rosenthal Sr., who later died in a gun accident. His political experience is limited. He was an advisor to the former mayor of San Pedro Sula Jerónimo Sandoval Sorto (1986–1990). He was also the coordinator of his father Jaime Rosenthal's presidential campaign and in 2005, following an internal election by the Liberal Party, he became the regional coordinator of Mel Zelaya's presidential campaign.
