Jaime Rolando Rosenthal Oliva

Jaime Rolando Rosenthal Oliva (* 1936 in San Pedro Sula ; † January 12, 2019 ) was a Honduran politician and businessman.

Life

Rosenthal holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from MSI and an MSc from MIT Sloan School of Management . He was Deputy President under the presidency of José Azcona Hoyo (January 1986-January 1990) and resigned after political differences. From January 2002 to January 2006 he was a member of Congress in the Honduran Parliament.

Jaime Rosenthal was the leader of a liberal party in Honduras, the PLH, for which he was a candidate for president in Honduras several times. Jaime Rosenthal was anxious to prepare his son Yani for a candidacy for president.

The son Yani Rosenthal held the office of prime minister from January 27, 2006 to December 31, 2007 during Mel Zelaya's tenure . Jaime Rosenthal's lawyer Rassel Tome was the head of the telecommunications regulator CONATEL and his brother-in-law Roberto Hidalgo, the brother of his wife Mirian Hidalgo de Rosenthal, was the internal auditor of the Empresa Nacional Portuaria (Honduras national port authority).
