Yarınistan

Yarınistan ("Morgenland") is a pop music group founded in 1983 by the actor, musician and radio presenter Nedim Hazar and the film composer Geo Schaller , with an otherwise changing line-up. Her music style is a mixture of elements of German, Turkish and Kurdish pop music.

Career

Both Schaller and Hazar were also active in composing for Yarınistan.

The reason for the establishment was a Recklinghausen Ruhr Festival production , in which Hazar worked as an actor and Schaller as a stage musician. The group, perceived as a multicultural project due to its German-Turkish occupation, later consisted at times of up to five musicians.

From 1987 to 1989, Yarınistan, who had already received the German Record Critics Award in 1986 for her first album , also had her most successful phase in the large line-up. After the second, equally excellent album, One Day Soon , sold 12,000 times, they played around a hundred concerts a year. The group also appeared on television 25 times. She was also a representative of ARD at the Danish EBU festival . Then there were international appearances u. a. in Switzerland , Turkmenistan , GDR , Kazakhstan and France .

In the 90s Yarınistan changed its concept and was increasingly involved with theater and cabaret programs, among others. a. can also be seen in the midnight peaks of German television. Nevertheless, she remained true to popular music in her publications with the Hilal cassette, which was released exclusively in Turkey in 1990 .

In 1994 the group announced their temporary dissolution after they had given concerts in Turkey . Since then, Schaller and Hazar have devoted themselves to other activities.

The work of Yarinistan also includes two music theater productions, namely Herrlich ist der Orient ... and This dish contains no pork and parts of the film music by Yasemin (1988) by Hark Bohm , which, however, come exclusively from Schaller; Hazar only appeared in the film as an actor.
