Yara ( Arabic يارا, DMG Yārā ), born as Carla Nazih Berkachi , also Carla Nazih el Berkachi (born June 1, 1983 in Deir el Ahmar ) is a Lebanese singer .

Life

Born and raised in Deir el Ahmar, a small town in the Bekaa plain 100 kilometers east of Beirut , mostly inhabited by Maronite Christians , she came into contact with Arabic music at an early age. Yara is the youngest daughter, she also has an older brother. She chose the stage name Yara, which in the language of the Phoenicians who used to live on the soil of Lebanon means something like "beloved", in Persian "daughter of spring" and in the language of the pharaohs roughly "queen of heaven". Its discoverer was the Lebanese composer Tarek Abu Jaoude . She is one of the most ambitious singers of "Arab Pop" and in some cases has won weighty artist prizes in the Middle East and the Arab world at a young age.
