The Yellowstone Crags (from English yellow stone , yellow rock ' and English crags , cliffs' ) are a by erosion resulting group of spiers on Saunders Iceland in the archipelago of South Sandwich Islands . They rise 800 m west of Sombre Point .
They were given their descriptive name in 1971 by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee .
