Max Landis (born February 2, 1993 in Indianapolis ) is an American basketball player .
career
As a student, Landis was one of the top basketball players of his year in Indiana , USA , where he played for Perry Meridian High School. From 2012 he was part of the college team at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina . In April 2013, he announced that he was leaving Gardner-Webb, joining Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). Because of the NCAA's transfer regulations , Landis had to sit out in the 2013/14 game year, from 2014 to 2016 he was then the top performer of the team nicknamed "Mastodons". His achievements in the 2015/16 season, when he averaged 19.3 points and hit a total of 125 three-point throws in 33 missions, earned him the title of “Player of the Year” in the Summit League. He was the first basketball player in IPFW history to receive this honor.
In the summer of 2016, Landis completed trial training sessions with several NBA teams, but ultimately signed his first professional contract with the Belgian first division club Okapi Aalstar . He played 24 games during the main round of the Belgian league and averaged 7.5 points per match.
In July 2017, Landis was signed by the German Bundesliga club Gießen 46ers . His statistical mean values in the 2017/18 Bundesliga season were 11.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 18 appearances. In preparation for the 2017/18 season, he tore a meniscus in a friendly game. By the end of the 2018/19 season, he made a total of 46 Bundesliga appearances for Mittelhessen. During the summer break of 2019, he moved to FC Porto in Portugal.
