Yeni Hayat ( Turkish for new life ) is a Turkish village with around 200-350 inhabitants. It is located about 30 km northwest of the provincial capital Çorum .

history

The name Abdalbodu was changed to "Yeni Hayat" after the Turkish military coup in the 1970s. The original name of the village can be traced back to the 18th century and an Alevi religious community . The religious leader ( Dede ), who settled down with his members, founded a faith community (Dergah, Ocak). The religious leader derives the legitimation for religious leadership from the holy men from the area around Hacı Bektaş Veli . The exercise of his religious office required the written approval of the respective genealogical descendants of Haci Bektaş Veli. The document is called icazet, tahti and the holder is called mürebbi .
