Yiannis Kouros ( Greek Γιάννης Κούρος , Giannis Kouros ; born February 13, 1956 in Tripoli ) is a Greek ultra marathon and extreme runner. He has lived in Australia since 1990 and is now a citizen of that country in addition to Greek.

Yiannis Kouros is known and legendary for numerous world records in the field of ultramarathons on distances from 100 to 1000 miles (160 to 1601 km) and from 24-hour runs to 10-day runs. His best marathon time is 2:25 (1982). He won the Spartathlon four times (1983, 1984, 1986, 1990), and so far no other runner has been able to beat one of his winning times (record of 1990 20:29 h).

In 1997 he ran 303.506 km in a 24-hour run. In 2005 he set a new record in the six-day race in Colac, Australia with 1036.850 km.
